This 120-year old carriage home remodel merges historical preservation with contemporary style and functionality. Straight out of the American Gilded Age, the home is located in the Long Island Oyster Bay Cove neighborhood.

While the galley kitchen layout and 12-foot ceilings posed critical design issues, a library ladder and brass rails added charm and easy access to high cabinets. The long kitchen features stunning fixtures like Arabescato Antico marble backsplash and island, a custom cooker hood and dark stone countertops.

The primary bedroom and bathroom truly steal the show. The bed is framed by bespoke millwork styled to invite a calm atmosphere. The bathroom is the epitome of luxury, below an Aerin Bonnington Chandelier sits a standalone clawfoot tub.

Jamie Morgan owner and founder of the interior design studio Blake & Dane felt up for the challenge, “The beauty of the home is the structure, architecture, and history. And finding ways to enhance those attributes and bring the feeling you get about the house to life,” said Morgan.
